Hello, I have a quick question concerning which bonsai substrate to use for my trees.

My local store has a huge sale on lava mulch and I consider buying some. Now here's my question, is it possible to only use lava mulch as Bonsai substrate? What are the benefits if it is even possible? Will my trees die by only using this one kind?

Hello,... Lava can be a Component of an good Substrate but not only for single use. The Lava Stonesizes
for normal Bonsai should be aprox. 2-8mm for a big Bonsai maybe bigger, you have to check the Stonesizes of the Lava Mulch, i am not sure .. but i think they are bigger ?!
